Last updated: February 7, 2026
Summary
- All data stays on your device. Job data, notes, and tags are stored only in
chrome.storage.local.
- No external servers. The extension never transmits any data to any remote server.
- No analytics or tracking. There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries of any kind.
Data Collected
When you save a job listing, the extension stores the following information locally on your device:
- Job title, company name, location, and job URL
- Salary (if available on the page)
- Status, personal notes, and tags you add
- Timestamp when the job was saved
This data is extracted from the text content of supported job board pages and is never sent anywhere outside your browser.
Permissions and Their Purpose
- storage — Save your tracked job data locally on your device.
- activeTab — Read the active tab's URL when you click the extension icon, so it can determine if you are on a supported job board.
- scripting — Inject the extraction script into the current job listing page to read job details from the page. This only happens on supported job board URLs and only when you explicitly trigger it.
- Host permissions — Restrict the extension to operate only on specific, supported job board websites (e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, etc.).
User Control
Site access is opt-in. You can enable or disable access for each supported job board from the extension popup's Site Access section at any time. You can also delete individual saved jobs or clear all data from within the extension.
Third-Party Services
JobSnap Tracker does not use any third-party services, APIs, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
